The application determines the currentvelocity of the driving vehicle and calculates the required overallstopping distance, that is needed in a hazardous situation and fullbraking to slow your vehicle down to a complete stop.The distance your vehicle needs for a full braking driving thecurrent speed to slow down to a complete stop is called overallstopping distance. The overall stopping distance consists of thereaction pathway and brake path. The program uses predefined andrational values for the deceleration and reaction time that may notalways be perfectly suitable for the concrete driving situation.Therefore always drive foresighted and with a speed adjusted to thecurrent traffic situation.The overall stopping distances are usually much higher than mostpeople expect. For example driving 50 km/h the stopping distanceamounts to 25-30 m, driving 100 km/h it is already 80 m. Theseresults are valid for a dry and flat road. Downhill the stoppingdistance increases, uphill it decreases. Wet, snow-covered or icyroadways increase the overall stopping distance drastically. Youcan adjust the weather conditions in the application duringmeasurement.Tap the speedometer to change the display from km/h to mph. Thedistance and elevation data can be converted from metric toimperial unit system by tapping the letter 'M' or the 'FT' at thetop of the screen.
